Carriage ride

Be it a romantic tour for couples or an outing with all the family: On the back seat of the carriage - with coachman and horses in view – you could really get to like this wonderful outing. Blankets and furs provide enough warmth, the landscape full of snow-covered mountain peaks, villages, forests and meadows passes by slowly.

Several coachmen offer their services in Ötztal, for example along the wide valley floor of Längenfeld or in the middle of the Ötztal mountains. Even in high Alpine Vent you don't have to miss out on a carriage tour. And before the cold winter air makes its way through the many layers of clothing and blankets, it's time for a cozy rest stop.

While the coachman holds the reins firmly in his hands, passengers can virtually forget the worries of everyday life, taking in the awesome winter landscape. Only the muffled tick-tack-tick-tock sound of the horses' hooves on the snow interrupts the immense silence of nature. Are there any faster means of transport? Of course. But are there more comfortable ones? We can hardly imagine that.

Decelerating. This is how not only the coachmen themselves describe horse-drawn sleigh rides, but also everyone who has tried it, sitting on the back seat. Compared to driving by car, even compared to walking, you will perceive the environment in a completely different and more intense way by discovering details that would otherwise remain hidden. Special tip: Bring your camera and keep an eye out for beautiful motifs - there are plenty of them in Tirol's longest side valley. Another recommendation: Despite fur blankets that are available on the sled, you should dress warmly (thermal underwear!) in order to fully enjoy the carriage ride.
