The unrivaled Glacier Flea Hike from Obergurgl (1,930 m) to Vent (1,900 m) is a sporty traditional alpine hike that is contested together with many like-minded mountain lovers. Leading right through the high alpine glacier world of upper Ötztal, all participants climb the 3,200 m high Ramoljoch saddle before descending again towards Vent. Cross summit ridges, hike through green landscapes and rocky terrain and become a “glacier flea” too!

Start:	Sunday, 04 August 2024 from 6:00 am to 7:30 am in the morning - at the forecourt of Gurgl Carat
Finish:	Vent – community center/fire department. Followed by jovial get-together and prize giving to the fastest, oldest and youngest participants.
Registration:	You can register either online or directly at the start (please note: there may be a waiting time).
Entry fee:	€ 15.00 per person, € 8.00 for children (up to 14 years) and seniors (from 60+ years). The entry fee includes the taxi return transfer for the participants from Vent to Gurgl and a drink in the finish area.
Free luggage transfer:	From the start in Gurgl to the finish in Vent (luggage can be dropped off directly at the start).
Return transfer:	From 11:00 am taxis will drive from Vent to Gurgl

Küppelealm (2,303 meters) 3 km, until 9:00 am
Ramolhaus (3,006 meters) 7 km – refreshments until 11:30 am
Ramoljoch (3,200 meters) 9 km, until 12:30 pm
Langeben (2,583 meters) 12 km, until 2:30 pm
Finish: Vent (1,900 meters) 16 km, until 4:00 pm

In order to receive the Badge, it is absolutely necessary to pass the checkpoints and have the passage scanned.

Notes & conditions of participation

The Ötztal Glacier Flea Hike is a hike with an alpine character that leads to an altitude of 3,200 meters. The route is well marked and leads along the well-known Alpine Club paths. Nevertheless, participants are strongly advised to wear sturdy mountaineering boots and appropriate clothing. Even in good weather, you should definitely take anorak and weather protection with you.

Route Assistance

The whole hiking track is under radio control. First aid and safety posts are distributed along the whole route.

Liability: The organizer does not assume any liability. By registering, each participant accepts the general regulations & guidelines.

Only start if you are in very good health & excellent physical condition
Do not leave the marked trails
A steady and regular hiking pace its strongly recommended

Recommended Equipment

Since the Glacier Flea Hike largely leads through high alpine terrain, the following equipment is recommended to all participants:

Mountaineering boots
Warm clothing (top, long pants)
Waterproof rain jacket with hood
Gloves & hat
Sunscreen
Sunglasses
Blister plaster
First aid kit (incl. rescue blanket, bandage, tape)
Personal food and drink (there is only one catering point - checkpoint Ramolhaus, consumption has to be paid by yourself), one drink and one soup included
