Is it the clean and crisp mountain air that makes so hungry or the hand-rolled dumplings, the fluffy Kaiserschmarrn, the varied homemade specialties? However, a stop in Sölden's traditionally serviced mountain huts and Alpine pasture inns is an absolute must and you will soon find out why. Some are conveniently located close to the valley floor, others can be reached after a short mountain gondola ride or by hut taxi, still others only by a long walk on foot. In all places you can expect freshly prepared mountain food, jovial hut atmosphere and uninterrupted mountain vistas.
The picturesque village of Zwieselstein, located at the end of the Ötztal, serves as a starting point for many hiking tours. For a spontaneous, short and easy tour, a hike to the Sahnestüberl is suitable. The Siegerland HütteThe hut is high above the Windachtal in the Stubaier Alps on 2.710 metres and not far from the border to South Tyrol. It also has his own climbing garden. The hut was built in 1928/29 and opened in 1930. The owner is the DAV, section Siegerland.Every year the section renovates and renews the hut, which is very neat. The Siegerland Refuge is of course not the oldest hut and not the most comfortable one, but we are sure, it is one of the most beautiful huts in the Stubaier Alps. The hut extinguish with it’s simplicity- but please believe- the "Kaiserschmarrn" never tasted better than up in the mountains.The hut has 23 beds and 26 dorm mattresses.

Lovingly prepared Austrian dishes are served in the cozy Wirtshausstube parlor or on the separate, sheltered Wirtshaus terrace. Your meals are accompanied by selected premium wines of local winemakers or fresh draft beers. Stop off at the inviting Wirtshaus Bar and enjoy a cappuccino, a glass of wine or beer. Early birds can book a sumptuous breakfast in the Wirtshaus to boost their energy level for the day's skiing.
