Easter skiing

Sunshine skiing instead of egg hunting

Everyone who is looking for more fun on the slopes at Easter will find the yellow of the egg in the Sölden ski resort. Here we explain why one of Austria’s largest winter sports areas is particularly suitable for Easter holidays on skis.

Snow guaranteed until spring

Are you looking for a ski area with guaranteed snow for the Easter holidays? Say no more! No matter if Easter falls on an early (end of March) or very late date (end of April), you will still find enough snow and the finest slope conditions in Sölden.

This is thanks to the altitude of the ski area from 1350 to 3340 meters above sea level. Sölden not only offers a winter ski area, it also boasts two glacier ski areas. Rettenbachferner and Tiefenbachferner glaciers have over 34 kilometers of pistes for all ability levels as well as the best conditions on well-groomed ski runs and sometimes even fresh powder snow until early May. By the way: you can change between the two glaciers spectacularly via a ski tunnel without having to take off your skis. Or you simply take the connecting ski lift.

The winter ski area is also connected to the glacier area by mountain lift – taking a panoramic ride on the "Gletscherexpress" gondola you can easily switch between the areas while taking a deep breath during the journey to let upper Ötztal’s impressive mountain world enchant you.

The winter ski area is traditionally open until the middle/end of April, the glacier ski area until the beginning of May. If you want to know it even more exactly: In the 2022/2023 winter season, the winter ski area is open until 23 April 2023, and the glacier ski area until 07 May 2023. Opening times may vary from season to season, so please check how long each area is open HERE.
